Celebrating success at the 49th International Exhibition of Inventions Geneva 2024 with gold and silver medal

We are thrilled to announce and celebrate the remarkable success of the Centre for Perceptual and Interactive Intelligence (CPII) at the 49th International Exhibition of Inventions Geneva 2024. CPII and our Centre Director Professor Helen Meng have been awarded a prestigious Gold Medal and a Silver Medal in recognition of their groundbreaking innovations.

Led by our Centre Director Professor Meng and Dr. Philip Liu, the invention “Shattering Language Barriers in Multilingual, Multiparty Communication with the CPII Meeting Assistant: An AI-Powered Solution Providing Real-Time, High-Performance Speech Recognition, Advanced Machine Translation, and Streamlined Content Summarization” has been awarded a Gold Medal which represents the highest level of recognition bestowed upon CPII, a testament to the excellence and impact of the invention. This invention introduces an AI-powered productivity tool to automatically transcribe the speech in multilingual, multiparty exchanges into text, translate it into a target language, and summarize key highlights to capture the gist of the speech. CPII will continue to push the boundaries of innovation, delivering cutting-edge inventions that address real-world challenges.

The International Exhibition of Inventions Geneva is renowned as one of the largest and most prestigious global events dedicated exclusively to inventions. All entries have been evaluated by an international jury of specialists. This year, the event was held on 17 April to 21 April 2024.
